會計法修法疏漏、社會觀感不佳。馬英九總統7日親自召開記者會宣布，同意行政院依據憲法增修條文規定，向立法院提出覆議，解決會計法修正衍生的爭議，並向社會大眾道歉。
馬總統上午取消出席中央警察大學畢業典禮，改派吳敦義副總統出席。10時30分在總統府召開記者會，行政院長江宜樺、立法院長王金平出席。
馬英九說，會計法第99條之1條文修正案，在上周五、5月31日經立法院三讀通過後，「這幾天我看到社會各界對此有不少的批評與責難，我對此深感不安，經過這幾天沈澱與思考後，我認為該案修正過程中，確實存有不少爭議，造成社會觀感不佳，傷害對執政團隊的信任」。
馬英九表示，「我曾經說過，清廉是我的生命，我個人一直也堅持清白從政、奉公守法，這點身為中華民國總統與國民黨主席，我責無旁貸，我必須承擔外界的批評與責難，也要積極負起監督政府改革的責任，因此我一方面指示行政團隊要與立法院黨團進行必要的檢討，也決定今天召開記者會向社會各界道歉」。
他指出，整個修法過程，包括民意代表等人員不當使用公款的除罪化，以及修法的時候法條漏字疏誤等等，執政黨確實是思考不周，也違背社會大眾的期待，「這點包括行政團隊、國民黨立法院黨團以及我本人都應深自反省跟檢討」。 (接下一頁)
