最近台南最受矚目的大事，當屬林百貨重新開幕，以後到台南旅遊的朋友們，又多了一個文化新地標可以遊走。台南市定古蹟【林百貨】興建於西元1932年（日昭和7年），位於現在台南市中西區中正路與忠義路口，日治時此區又稱為末廣町，當時是台南最大的百貨公司，與台北市榮町的菊元百貨（已拆除）並稱為日治時代兩大百貨大樓。林百貨也是台南第一棟有電梯的建築物，俗稱「五層樓仔」、「坐流籠（電梯）」，我阿嬤他們都稱呼日文「
