上萬海象簇擁小島　面臨踩踏致死威脅

【綜合報導】美國阿拉斯加西北岸，9月中開始出現大批海象，估計約有1萬隻海象，由於暖化影響，造成海冰退到北冰洋1萬英尺深的地方，海象在北冰洋找不到海冰棲息繁衍，被迫擠在距離安克拉治(Anchorage)約1126公里波音萊(Point Lay)鄰近島嶼上。

美國魚類暨野生動物服務局，9月12日在小島上拍到約2千到4千頭，比肩繼踵的海象，擔心海象因北極熊、獵人或低空飛行的飛機，引起恐慌逃命，繼而發生踩踏致死的意外，2009年9月就曾發生過踩踏事故，當時造成超過130頭幼年海象死亡。
