台三線古坑路段自4月3日至6日清明連續假期間，因劍湖山世界的促銷遊園活動，加上綠色隧道、荷苞山桐花公園的景點，在這幾天的連假期間，其車流量相當高鋒，由斗南警分局每天均調派近百名警民力疏導交通，昨6日下午4時正值遊客歸巢的時段，適逢下起一場大雨，造成台三線257K南往北路樹倒塌影響道路交通。

當時風大雨大影響視線和安全駕駛，經獲報的古坑所員警冒雨前往指揮交通，並為維持該路段的交通順暢，立即調用大量交通錐封閉2個車道進行調撥疏導，並通報相關道路維護單位前往搶通，同時由副所長林耿顯率多名員警，冒雨清除落葉樹枝，始讓來往人車安全無虞平安返家。
