或許年銷售成績是判斷車廠、集團在全球車壇地位象徵，但其實利潤的多寡才是支撐整個集團營運的重點所在。2014年提前4年達成銷售1000萬輛目標的德國VW集團，在日前也進一步公開2014年財報。其中提到即便VW集團2014年總銷售已超過1010萬輛，但在利潤方面卻還是沒有沒有顯著提升，也因此推出更多暢銷新車才是VW集團在2015年的首要目標。
