巨人作客道奇三連戰第2戰，兩隊都派出王牌先發，去年拿下世界大賽的MVP「瘋邦」Madison Bumgarner對決去年度MVP「書僮」Clayton Kershaw，此役上演精彩投手戰，瘋邦略勝一籌，終場巨人以2比1險勝道奇，系列賽扳回一城。

這是兩人繼22日再度交手，不過上次彼此都無關勝敗，這一戰總算分出勝負，Kershaw先發7局用92球、66球好球，被敲出7支安打，包括第4局挨了Buster Posey一轟，單場飆出8次三振，無任何四壞球保送，失掉2分責失。

Bumgarner技高一籌，主投8局飆出9次三振，1次壞球保送，僅被敲5安，4局下失掉唯一1分，拿下本季第2勝（1敗），防禦率3.73，Kershaw承擔敗投，戰績1勝2敗，防禦率同樣是3.73。

巨人全隊敲出10安，不過攻勢串連不夠，得點圈有人時，7打席僅1人敲出安打，Posey轟出陽春砲，打下勝利打點，救援投手Santiago Casilla關門守住領先，助軍在系列賽扳回一城。
