南投縣竹山鎮田中巷一座三合院今天凌晨起火，民眾報案指出，1名女子受困屋內，消防局出動70人全力搶救，但最後女子未能逃出，陳屍處距門口僅5步。

南投縣政府消防局凌晨1時12分據報，田中巷一座三合院冒出大火，且1人受困屋內，消防局立刻派遣南投、名間、集集、碧興、竹山分隊，共70人、13車前往搶救。屋內因木板隔間且堆積家用雜物，火勢猛烈。

莊姓男屋主逃出後向警消求援指出，他27歲的女兒在房內睡覺，尚未逃出，消防員一度試圖在火場內搜尋莊女，無奈現場火勢猛烈，莊女被發現時已成一具焦屍，且陳屍在距離門口僅5步之處。

警方表示，起火當時由鄰居發現，鄰居便大喊「失火了，趕快出來」，莊女的父母聽聞驚醒，逃出屋外，莊父試圖再度衝入屋內營救女兒，無奈濃煙嗆鼻、阻斷視線，莊父未能救出女兒，只能在屋外焦急、痛哭。

警方表示，起火當時屋內所有人正熟睡，無人看到如何起火及起火點；消防局表示，火災財物損失約新台幣80萬元、燃燒面積約60平方公尺，詳細原因由火災調查科深入調查。(中央社)
